I got into FSU law!!!!!!!!

To say the least, this past weekend trip was super successful.
Not only did I get to hang out with ALL of my best Florida friends, but I also got to tour FSU law school.
Let's see, a brief recap: on Friday, Corissa, Angelo, Courtney and I went cosmic bowling with Ernesto (and yes, I did get a strike!) after eating yummy Mexican food with Mary and Chris. Saturday Corissa and I went graduation dress shopping and then we went to the 4th Annual Prom at the flat (complete with balloon arch). It was like real high school Prom because all of my favorite high school buddies were there: Corissa, Angelo, Mary (and her husband Chris), Courtney (and her new boyfriend), Bethany (and her boyfriend Ryan), Deryn, Tim, Preya, Jon Brown and Ernesto. It was such a blast from the past and I was so happy that we got to reunite. It's sad to think that that event might have been the last time we were all together for a long, long time. : (
Sunday, Corissa, Courtney, Preya and I went to lunch and went over the previous night's events and what our plans are for next year. It was so great to have lunch with the girls and it was an excellent end to the weekend.

I had such a blast staying with Corissa and Angelo and I'm so grateful that they let me stay in their lovely apartment. They're amazing : )
My tour of FSU was successful and I just loved the law school campus. The staff was all extremely welcoming and random professors even stopped to talk to me in the hallways.
All of this makes me even more excited as I was accepted to FSU law today!!!!!!!!!!
YAY! I'm SO SO happy!

Going up to Tally!

Friday morning I'll be driving up to Tallahassee for a couple of reason (all of which I'm thrilled about):

#1 I get to see my favorite high school friends: Corissa, Angelo, Mary, Courtney and Tim
#2 I get to go to their 4th Annual Prom which takes place in the Flat where most of them lived at some point during their college years. I've seen so many pictures of the Proms of years past complete with cocktail dresses and balloon arches in their apt. but I've never been able to go since I was always out of state at school. This year, I'm SO there! Graduating a semester early does have some props : )
#3 I'm visiting Florida State's law school. I've never seen it before (or much of FSU's campus, really) so I'm really excited. I'm getting to go on a tour of the school and sit down with someone from the admissions office. My application is not under review by the committee yet, so I'm hoping all of this will help sway their ultimate decision in my favor.

5 hours is going to be long in the car on the way up, but it's going to be worth it.
TALLAHASSEE...here I come!

My Secret Life

So, you've all heard of Miley Cyrus right? Well, for those of you who don't know why she's particularly famous (aside from being the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus), for the tween-gang, Miley is the star of a hit Disney television show called Hannah Montana. Miley plays "herself" on the TV show as a normal girl, except for one thing: she has an alter ego of sort. Hannah Montana, the pop singing sensation is really Miley Cyrus but nobody knows it is her because instead of her normal brunette hair, she dons a wig made of golden locks. As described in the theme song of the television show, Miley is able to enjoy "the best of both worlds".
You're probably wondering where I'm going with all of this. Well, let's just say I have a secret life too. No, I can't tell you allll about it, then where would all of the intrigue be, but I'll give you a general run down. For most of the year, I am a pretty normal student (well, I was until I graduated in December). I have a good group of friends and I'm part of a variety of organizations including singing in the college choir, riding on the college equestrian team and copy editing the student newspaper. But, for the past 5 years, off and on I've led another life. Let's just say that I go from signing autographs by the hundreds one minute to walking right past a crowd (disguised in sunglasses) the next minute with none of them even turning their heads to look at me.
Have I got you thoroughly intrigued? Or perhaps just confused?
Take a guess....I'm interested to see what you think.

Let's play a game of 20 questions. The only rule: don't outright ask what my job is.
Ready? GO!

Go Fly a Kite!

It's been a while since I've had a blog, but since I've graduated a semester early and have a little time on my hands before I start law school in the fall...

The name of my blog is "Go Fly a Kite" inspired not only by the philosophical whims of my first semester of no school since I was a toddler but also by the literal adventure I had a few days ago. I flew a kite on the beach for the first time since I was little. It was perfect kite weather, windy and gorgeous out. It was really fun...mostly because little work was required and that made it all the better. How many things can you think of in life that are so simple yet give you such a great feeling of success?
